The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Theme Park

A Harry Potter Theme Park has been released in Orlando, Florida. It consists of Hogwarts Castle, Hogsmede Villiage and the Dragon Challenge Rollercoaster. Shops featured in the books also feature in the theme park.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is going to be released in two parts. Part 1, November 2010. Part 2, July 2011

J.K Rowling has strongly hinted that she might be writing an eighth Harry Potter Book. She has said that it may revolve around Dunstable Dursley, Dudley Dursley’s son.

-More than 16,000 children in the U.K. and U.S. auditioned for the role of Harry Potter.
-There was a real turquoise Ford Anglia, where J. K. Rowling rode shotgun regularly with the owner and good friend whom she dedicated book 2 to.
-In real life, the Hogwarts Express is called the “Olton Hall” and runs between Scarborough and York.
-Warwick Davis (Professor Flitwick) also played the Gremlin in the government’s literacy campaign adverts and played an Ewok in Star Wars. He was also one of the Gringott’s Goblins in HP1.
– J. K. Rowling named the driver and conductor of the Knight Bus after her grandfathers, Ernie and Stanley.
– In the Spanish translations of the Harry Potter books, Neville Longbottom’s toad, Trevor, has been translated as a turtle instead of a frog.

– J.K. Rowling wrote a song about Nearly Headless Nick’s decapitation for Book 2, however her editor didn’t like it so they cut it out.
– Molly Weasley’s maiden name is Prewett.

– Ginny’s full name is Ginevra, not Virginia.
– Fred and George were born on April Fool’s day.
